Art Tales

Some paintings are famous for what they show. Others are famous for what happened around them, a theft, a scandal, a rejection, a sitter who hated the result. This section is the long way round to the same paintings you will find in the catalogue, told through the people and the accidents that made them. It is the least practical part of the library and the part people read for longest. Where a story touches a work we reproduce, you will find the link to it. Those canvases are hand painted to order in oil by a trained artist, at the size you choose, and you see a photograph of the finished painting before it ships rolled in a tube with a certificate of authenticity.
