The style also traveled east, reaching its summit in southern Germany and Austria from the 1730s until the 1770s. ² Giovanni Battista Tiepolo decorated the ceilings of the Würzburg Residence in Germany from 1750 to 1753. ² Empress Elisabeth and Catherine the Great also introduced the Russian Rococo style during the eighteenth century. ²
